Our Farm Ladies Retreat: A Journey of Transformation
Our Farm Ladies Retreat: A Journey of Transformation
This past November, we had the privilege of hosting a six-day Ladies' Retreat at Our Farm, and it was nothing short of transformative. Though rain was in the forecast, the week unfolded with beautiful weather, creating a peaceful backdrop for healing and renewal. Our farmhouse became a safe haven—a place where women could step away from daily demands and focus on themselves.
The retreat was thoughtfully designed to help women work through relationship challenges, personal trauma, and emotional wounds, ultimately guiding them toward peace, resilience, and renewed purpose. Each guest arrived with a unique story and emotional landscape, but throughout the week, healing, hope, and connection emerged in powerful ways.
Healing Through Life Coaching and Equine Therapy
One of the most impactful elements of the retreat was our equine therapy experience. Before interacting with the horses, each woman met individually with a life coach. During these private sessions, the coach helped the ladies uncover the roots of their pain and negative emotions. Through guided questions and compassionate reflection, they began reframing their thoughts and releasing the trauma that had kept them feeling stuck.
Following their individual sessions, the women gathered for equine therapy. With greater awareness of their emotional wounds, they were able to engage with the horses in a profoundly meaningful way. The horses mirrored their emotions, offering insight, grounding, and a safe space for release. This powerful combination of life coaching and horse therapy allowed healing to unfold organically and authentically.
Lessons from the Garden
Another cherished part of having a retreat is what happens in our garden spaces. Here, a facilitator uses gardening as a metaphor for emotional well-being. Just as healthy soil is essential for strong roots, our emotional lives require care, attention, and nurturing.
The group reflects on how tending the soil represents addressing the origins of emotional pain, while watering the soil symbolizes consistent self-care and healthy emotional practices. When soil is nurtured properly, these efforts lead to growth and the bearing of healthy fruit—mirroring emotional repair, resilience, and lasting positive change.
Vision Boards and Finding Purpose
Vision board day offered the ladies a creative and forward-focused experience. Using images, words, and symbols, they crafted visual representations of their hopes, goals, and desires. Because each woman had already completed a life coaching session, they approached this activity with clarity and intention.
This head start allowed them to identify what needed to change in their lives, envision a renewed sense of purpose, and set meaningful goals to move forward with confidence and direction.
Releasing Pain Through Nature
One of the most serene and symbolic moments of the retreat was our nature walk along the creek. Surrounded by the calming sounds of flowing water and rustling leaves, the women were encouraged to quiet their minds and reflect.
Each woman selected a leaves to represent individuals she needed to forgive for past hurts. As she released the leaves into the creek, she symbolically let go of pain, resentment, and trauma. Watching the leaves float away became a powerful act of forgiveness—opening the door to freedom, peace, and emotional renewal.
A Week to Remember
Our Farm Ladies Retreat was more than just a getaway—it was a journey of healing, self-discovery, and transformation. We witnessed women release burdens, rediscover hope, and step forward with renewed strength and clarity. It was an honor to hold space for such meaningful change, and we are deeply grateful for every woman who trusted us with her story.
We are working on brochures that will break down pricing for those interested in attending a retreat. If you're interested in learning more about our retreats or would like to join us in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out through the email provided below.
